That being said, if you follow the simple steps you should be fine.
Just remember to make backups of any files you replace or modify.
---------
if you play Halo: CE you know you can have team members names appear
anywhere across the map.
You can have that with Halo: PC as well.
Some of you know this already.
if you don't know what i'm talking about, here's a screenshot:
You can turn the tags on and off with F3, just like on CE.
You need to turn them off when you want to get the name of an enemy.
It does not come with an installer, but it is really easy to put in place.
first, download the Zip file HERE
second, extract the files and place them into the Halo: PC installation directory.
(default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Halo)
third, Rename Strings.dll to Strings_org.dll
finally, Rename _Strings.dll to Strings.dll
Easy as that.

You can get the names of the enemies with that? I've had it on CE for years and never knew that.A§H»JÓÒK wrote:You need to turn them off when you want to get the name of an enemy.
Also, is this a legal mod for PC for our servers? I want to make sure it's not against the rules before installing it, mostly because I'd have no idea how to put it back if it wasn't.
Re: Halo: PC Name Tags
So it's kinda like the ESP hack except it only works for your team members and it doesn't display enemy health.
Re: Halo: PC Name Tags
nah, you can't see the enemies names or anything like that. you only see your allies.A§H»Stealth wrote:You can get the names of the enemies with that? I've had it on CE for years and never knew that.A§H»JÓÒK wrote:You need to turn them off when you want to get the name of an enemy.

Re: Halo: PC Name Tags
If its not allowed we might as well just not even play halo ce because its the exact same thing as on ce, lol.
All this 'mod' does is make it so that you can press F3 and have the names of your teammates over their heads (just like you can do in halo ce). In halo ce if you have the names turned off, you can see enemy names IF (and only if) you put your reticule over them.
In short, this 'mod' gives halo pc the exact same thing that halo ce already has.

This is fine. As long as you don't know anything you wouldn't know before such as enemy information.
