We're not all members of =CE= forums so here is what's important.
"As we all know =CE= has been centered around Xfire for chat for years and years. Unfortunately, Xfire is nearing its end and will no longer function in a couple of weeks.
Benny (an agent of Xfire). It's not been posted anywhere, but he had a status saying "RIP Xfire Client" I asked him about it and he confirmed that the client is being phased out. ETA is two weeks."

How positive are we that this is true?!

I am just informing of a posibility that has a fair chance of taking place since Altern the guy who posted this is not your average troll.
Re: Xfire is going down apparently.
You can never be positive with this sort of thing. I'm not all too nostalgic of x-fire and it is quite obvious the service has been failing in the past year. If this does come from one of the devs for x-fire, I would not hesitate to believe it, and I do believe it . RIP x-fire if it does go down.

In the last few months it's become almost impossible to find the old client. They've never done anything substantial with that new client... It's still garbage. It was useful back in its time, but as a former user that only logs on to it every couple of month or so, I'm OK with it dying off. Just too many issues with the clients, videos uploading, and etc. If the servers do go away I'll only be sad for the lost of all the past videos that are saved to xfire out there.
RIP Xfire....

Darn, I like Xfire. It was the initial way I was introduced to this clan (other than playing our Halo servers). I still log into it regularly and use it to chat every now and then.
If this goes down, are there any alternative programs to use?

In what context do you mean broken? I know plenty of UK x-fire users that don't seem to have a problem with it.Pr@3tor wrote:I'm amazed how people use xfire still. Its been borked in the UK for ages now.

I use it daily . Bad news.

Steam is the most reliable. There is also Raptr, Evolve, and some others that most likely exist.A§H»BierLKW wrote:Darn, I like Xfire. It was the initial way I was introduced to this clan (other than playing our Halo servers). I still log into it regularly and use it to chat every now and then.

There is always AIM chat too
It lags my games and internet worse than Steam does, the in game interface is clunky, and the classic.xfire.com and it.xfire.com sites so longer work for me. The client would be okay if they did work, but with the new xfire website, it is just a failure. Not sure what the specific problems may be in the UK, but those are the general ones that I've heard from people all over.Krazychic wrote:In what context do you mean broken?
