Re: FIFA Women's World Cup 2019
I loved footbal, actually played myself ( low level) but in the 70's and early 80's corruption made certain teams very powerfull and rich trough f.i. gouvernement support or criminal chairmans. Eufa and Fifa allowed this.
These institutions blocked new developments like the use of tv/ video screen to aid refferees as this would make it more difficult for them to favor certain teams.
Then, at the worldcup of '86 , a player scored with his hand and , instead of being banned for the rest of his life, was heralded as the greatest player of the tournament if not the world.
Then , in 1992, eufa started the "champions legue".
This led to an even greater division between teams as those who got in got even more money and could buy every opponent apart, taking their starplayers , who would often become just reserves.
There has always been a diference between how much money a team had but it has become ridiculos .
So I don't watch it anymore.
