Depends on your ammo. Shotguns are nice n versatile, so you can choose specific pellet size for your game. I use small pellets for dove, steel BB for waterfowl, and big BB for Turkey. Never have to change guns, just ammo. Also most shotguns nowadays have exchangeable chokes/choketubes. These effect how wide your spread is when it leaves the gun. I imagine one would use a wider spread for pheasant, so the meat would not catch as many pellets.

I wouldn't mind seeing how much power a 10 gauge has. Might be good for geese cuz most of the time they're flying too high when some bozo fires early and scares em off before they get within proper range of a 12 gauge.
Exactly, shotguns have a large variety of ammunition sizes and types, and the choke is perfectly customizable, and I would love to try a 10 gauge, it would have quite a kick though.... Ever shot a .357 with .357 ammo? (Not .38) it has a huge kick, hurts to shoot lol

I have not used 357 in a rifle or handgun, but my Ruger Blackhawk Revolver is the next step up, .44 magnum. I absolutely love that gun. The recoil doesn't bother me that much. Heck I can't imagine the recoil on the 10 gauge to be more uncomfortable than my dad's M1 Garand. That gun is heavy, gave me M1 thumb, and rattles my teeth. Awesome piece of history though. It originally belonged to my grandfather who used it for special marksmanship tournaments. I received my grandpa's M1 Carbine, which I think is much more fun to shoot. Plus I don't have to worry about losing my thumb while loading it. :lol:

Yeah I hunt everything where I live. Turkey, Goose, Duck, Pheasant, Deer, and yeah.
