Noobish or not if you have a good working team on the server you need one or two campers. Without them Kelly won't be able to score cause nobody backs him up on his way to his base.

Actually GETTING the flag is just one aspect of CTF. You NEED people to stay at the base (or near it) for defense. You NEED people near the middle of the map to kill people and control key points of the map, you NEED people to go with you for the sole purpose of assault and covering your butt when you grab the flag, and you NEED people to provide cover fire and support when, and if, you leave the base with it. Without at least one of those factors, you won't score. I do all the above.

Anyone can jump in a vehicle, snag a flag, and hightail it out of there; I'm quite good at it tbh. But it isn't much fun ending the game in 8 minutes because you went cap happy, now is it?
I agree with Barto and Voltage here. Halo is after all a team game when we play CTF and everybody needs to play their part for the team to have success. My issue against "camping" is when there is no team unity or strategy. If the players are only interested in getting as many kills as possible without furthering the team goal of capturing the flag, then that in my opinion is a boring game of camping. Now, that would be all fine in a game type such as team slayer but not CTF.

People die in the game. As as result there will be players spawned back at the base (or near it) all the times. With players constantly pursuing the flag, they will inevitably be spread out all over the map. Because of this, any need for a team to stay put and camp is strategically unnecessary.

I stand by my original assessment that If a given player spends any more than 5% of a game not pursuing the flag and instead just trying to pick people off.... they fall within the NOOB category.

CTF is one gametype with numerous roles to be played; as I've stated above. Having everyone go for the flag pretty much the whole game is like having a football team of all quarterbacks. Makes no damn sense and is impractical.

As for calling people "noobs" for not playing the game as you see fit... Well that's very narrow-minded, now isn't it?

Lol. I was looking at some random wiki how topics and I found one on "How to Join a Halo Clan"
In it I found these exact words on how to join a clan:

Step 4: Snipers. There is nothing more that a clan leader loves than a good sniper. Snipers play a key role in clan battles so try to get good at that
It's kinda ironic how it says "Snipers play a key role in clan battles". :awesome: Will!!!! Your usually first place in the clan games we have.... :awesome:
