The institutions have excused their oppression and tyranny-law argue that discussions are not discussed in the space they dominate: "the political discussions and criticisms can you make do not concern us, for that there are other spaces".

The merit and value of the desert soldier can be measured by his physical capacity, intelligence, mobility, nerve, pugnacity, daring and stoicism. A commander of men requires these same qualities in even greater measure and in addition must be outstanding in his toughness, devotion to his men, instinctive judgement of terrain and enemy, speed of reaction and spirit.
Rommel.

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

"High rank and soft manners may not always belong to a true heart."
Anthony Trollope
"Particularly when you're dealing with very high ranking people, you know, you have to get their attention, they are used to, by their rank, of having their own way and doing their own thing and when it's necessary to all work together on something, sometimes you have to hit the mule between the eyes of the two by four to get its attention."

"Thousands of men executed and buried in mass graves, hundreds of men buried alive, men and women mutilated and slaughtered, children killed before their mothers' eyes, a grandfather forced to eat the liver of his own grandson. These are truly scenes from hell, written on the darkest pages of human history."

-International Criminal Tribunal Judge Fouad Riad, after confirming the genocide that happened on the Muslim people in Srebrenica, Bosnia
Why post this today? -Today is the 20th anniversary of the genocide that happened in Srebrenica. As a citizen of Bosnia-Herzegovina myself, I've been told of the monstrosities that happened there in 20 years ago.
The UN had a vote on whether to "accept" that it truly happened on the international scale a few days ago. Sadly, Russia veto'd it. Why they did it, I don't know. But I, and millions of other people here were heartbroken when it happened.
