It sucks when you have enough money to buy stuff you want but then realize that you don't need it and it wouldn't leave you with that much left over. I did some shopping at walmart this morning after getting off of work and I walked past the tablets and almost bought a $80 one. I had to tell myself not to though cause I already bought a new motherboard yesterday and I've got other stuff that I need to pay for qq
On a good note I bought a $200 motherboard for like $70 yesterday. Now I just need to figure out which i7 to get and how much RAM I'll need and then I can throw them in my case

Such is the life of the college student. Except most of us spend everything we've got on Ramen and tuition and use the little left over for gas or something.
At least you're getting your components in order. Sounds like you have a pretty sweet setup on the way.

This is the motherboard I got. I'm probably gonna get an i7 2600K and around 8GB of corsair vengeance RAM. I most likely won't be buying either for several weeks though cause I gotta buy a new phone with my next paycheck.

Ehh um that mobo is not a very good one. you would want someting more like this...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131837
unless your running quad gpu's it makes little sense to have that mobo. Urs also has 2.0 that clock on gpu would be cut back from the 3.0. i do like the choice of cpu even that it is older from 2011. still a very fine and well respected cpu.
btw what ram clock, gpu'(s) and hdd'(s) are you going to run? seems that your favoring buget 6 to 4 over performance.
sorry for my many misspelled words i havnt got sleep in 30 hours meh...

At most I would run a two way SLi with maybe two GTX 580's or something, but probably not since not every game I have would benefit from it. I also decided that instead of building a whole new pc for $2500 that I would just buy parts that I find for a decent price that are better than mine. I know that the i7 2600K isn't the best cpu and I know that the motherboard I got isn't the best, but its a whole lot better than mine and that's really all I'm looking for right now.
Once I get the money I'll be getting an i7 2600K for around $150 - $200 and then I'll get 8GB of 1600Mhz RAM. After that I'll most likely have to get a new PSU before I can use the parts because mine probably won't be enough. I'm also thinking that I may get a 256GB SSD for my C drive, a new case with better cable management, and a good graphics card like a 570 or a 660.
Right now I'm looking at building a budget pc that is better than mine but not something that can't handle a little pressure.

i got 2 660's if you want them. They are evga 660 SC.
And your right the 2600 isnt the best but it still has hyper-threading, 2.0 boost, and 3+ clock. I am very happy to see people arnt buying the haswells they are bad.
