Game: H1Z1 ... Pay to Win?

Came across a few things regarding the game
H1Z1.
This game was released yesterday and as of today it has gone Pay to Win (P2W). Naturally people are upset, so it looks like the devs are offering refunds (I think to people who purchased the game before 10:30am January 16th).
"

Refunds - if you are upset about the airdrop P2W issue and want a refund email bwilcox@soe.sony.com and we will take care of you"
The game had a
Mostly Positive (70%+) Steam rating when I checked on this yesterday, however, as of now it's
Mixed (52%+).

Interesting. I was thinking of buying it in the future. Most people we're hoping that it was going to be a better "replacement" for DayZ and a lot of the most helpfull reviews, weren't really positive. I wasn't suprised at the way this went. Reminds me of other zombie games that were projected well but became P2W. I can find any examples right now since my school wifi blocks it >.>
DayZ for the win. I'd recommend Project Zomboid to be honest. Haven't had much time to play that since I haven't played the 50
games I bought over the break >.>
Asi must have something interesting to say about this.

H1Z1 is similiar to Infestation: Survivor Stories
http://store.steampowered.com/app/226700/
Infestation: Survivor had a greater player base, until they made the game more Play 2 Win. H1Z1 has gone disastorously wrong. It has a 52% rating, after having been released a day before I just posted that review rating

Not looking good at all. All reviews seem to be pointing to the negative side.
All players are pushing for the removal of the P2W system and the air drops. Air drops remind me of Rust

Keep in mind, this was listed under Early Access:
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Initially available as a Steam Early Access title with optional in-game RMT (Real Money Trading) marketplace purchases, H1Z1 will later launch as a Free to Play."

Well. Even if the devs do fix H1Z1, it's not going to regain that surge of player base on the day of the rleease, in my opinion. But they have a lot to fix.

Game was about a year late for beta release. They stated back then that beta would go for a month for $20, then it would be free to play with not game unbalancing in-game purchases. The in-game purchases or air drops, would not have guns, etc. Saw the developer twitch stream myself when they discussed the topic. The basic question asked was if a player killed another player would the dead one be able to purchase guns and etc to get revenge or to “power-up” without effort, and the answer was always that it would never happen.
Now the game is finally in beta, and will probably stay there for a while or until people stop paying the $20 for it when they release it’s crap. From the streams I’ve watched it looks like a poor rip from DayZ. Garbage graphics and uninteresting game play.
I won’t even get this thing if or when they make it free.
Pay to win, No thanks.

I bought H1Z1 and am installing it at the moment XD
I hope it's worth it

Does anyone know if it is still going to go for free in the future?

People would go nuts if they went back on their word, haha.
This is from the steam store page:
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Initially available as a Steam Early Access title with optional in-game RMT marketplace purchases, H1Z1 will later launch as a Free to Play. Your Way™ title with optional in-game RMT marketplace purchases.”

Well that sucks. I forgot about that tid bit >.> I would've gone back in time about 12 hours earlier and stopped myself from buying the game. Half of the advertisement in the game is for the marketplace. You can buy ingame carts and stuff >.>

Get a refund with the new refund system. Though I'm sure they'll just claim to always be in a beta state, so they don't have to worry about going back on their word. At least until people stop paying for the game key, but by then nobody will be playing it anyway.
