Halo Online is a russia only halo 3/other custom halo maps online only free to play game being made by 343/Microsoft for the PC. An alpha build has been leaked and is playable. Modders are working on making multiplayer work here in the US, possibly on their own servers. More information can be found at the link I posted. This is great news for PC gamers who play halo- we have a shot at getting at least partial halo 3 gameplay on the PC.
Edit: Some screenshots I took in game- since you guys never pay any attention without any media to see These are posted from my surface pro so don't expect the highest graphical fidelity- I will upload some from my beast tower later.

Well that's no suprise. I would have figured copyright laws of some sort would have come into play.

The DMCA takedown was due to them accidentally uploading the original executable. It was blown way out of proportion. Either way, El dorito won't stop working on the mod.

MS should see this as an opportunity to sell some new Halo games for the PC. I'd start playing Halo again if they gave us some of the newer stuff (NOTE: NOT Halo Wars).

I know it's hard for MS to comprehend but some of us don't own an Xbos

It may be a great game but, since I don't own (and won't purchase) an Xbox, I wouldn't know. I just don't want to play it because, to me, Halo is an FPS with Masterchief. All others are wannabe heroes.

I can understand the strive for FPS games but halo wars is created by Ensemble studios (very good strategy game designer) and is a very good strategy game. There would be no harm in it getting ported with the rest.
