The purpose of this thread is like that of the Games Sales thread. Instead of video games, you can post such things as computer parts, tablets, various other electronics, ect. Basically anything tech related that you find for a good price can go here.

If you find a deal on something go ahead and post it here. Please use common sense though when posting deals for things that are used or from a potential unreliable source. If you post say a deal for a used item that you found on a site like eBay, please include a disclaimer in your post saying that it is up to the buyer to determine whether or not it is a reliable enough source/seller. Yes you can open a claim with eBay and sometimes get your money back but it's still a headache to do so.

For the people that may buy something that gets posted in this thread: if the item is used and/or from a source that is not 100% reliable please use caution and common sense. You are ultimately the one that will decide to make the purchase and it is your responsibility to determine whether or not something is legitimate/worth it or not.


With that being said, here are a few deals that I found:

$49.99 Western Digital Velociraptor 160GB SATA Hard Drive HDD (Lot of 5)

The description says lot of 5 but you have to choose a quantity. This may mean that they have a lot and that it is actually $49.99 for 5 drives. It could also mean that they are only selling one drive for $49.99 a piece. If you plan on purchasing these drives I would recommend contacting the seller first to determine how many drives you actually get.


$69.99 Western Digital Velociraptor 160GB SATA Hard Drive HDD (Lot of 6)

This is slightly more expensive than the other one but you get 6 drives.


Western Digital Velociraptor hard drives are 10,000 RPM. Laptop hard drives are normally around 5,400 RPM and regular desktop hard drives are normally 7,200 RPM. These particular hard drives are only 160GB but they are faster than what most of you will have (unless you have an SSD). Because you can get either 5 or 6 drives from these sellers you can put these drives in a RAID configuration to increase how much space you have as well as increase the speed. If you plan on purchasing these please take into consideration that they are used and that there is a possibility that they may not work. I seriously thought about buying the lot of 6 drives myself and putting them into RAID 10 but I already have a 240GB SSD, a 1TB HDD, and a 3TB HDD so I don't really need them.

$269.99 LG 24" 144hz Full HD LED Gaming Monitor

Here's a review that tomshardware did.

This monitor is normally $349.00 on LG's site and you can get it on NCIX for $295.35 but that's still not as cheap as it is on Massdrop.

The monitor is going for $269.99 on a site called Massdrop but it can potentially be sold for $249.99 depending on how many people purchase it. Massdrop is a site where a group of people commit to buy something and at the end of a certain amount of time the owners of the site place a bulk order with the company and because it is a bulk order they can get it at a deal which they then pass onto the purchasers. There are two downsides to Massdrop. Some of the items listed are not really that great of a deal because the companies don't give that much of a discount even though it is a bulk order. The second downside is that the shipping takes longer because it is a bulk order. The shipping time also depends on the company. Items have taken months to be delivered and some have taken a few weeks. If you decide to purchase anything on Massdrop, be aware that shipping will take a minimum of a few weeks.

I am REALLY thinking about buying this monitor. I've been wanting a 120hz or 144hz gaming monitor for a while now but they typically go for around $300 on up.

Mixed reviews of these monitors have appeared in the past but many have said that they usually are decent IPS panels (and for a really good price). $109.99 SanDisk Ultra II 2.5" 480GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

The drive is being sold on eBay (above link), Best Buy, and Amazon. There is also a 960GB version of the drive that is going for about $200 on Best Buy.


Typically for a good drive in today's market you would be spending around $100 for 240GB give or take a few. Here you have an SSD with pretty much the same speed, same price, but double the capacity. The downside seems to be with the longevity of the drive:

"On the inside, however, it's very different from its older brothers, being the first drive from SanDisk that uses the company's second-generation 19nm Triple Level Cell (TLC) flash memory. Prior to this, TLC NAND flash memory was mostly used in Samsung's drives, such as the Samsung 840 .

In a nutshell, TLC flash memory allows the memory cells to stack up vertically, which in turn packs more storage into the same space. This means the SSD is now cheaper to make but has slower performance and shorter endurance -- the total amount of data that can be written to the drive before it become unreliable -- than other types of memory, including Multiple Level Cell (MLC) and Single Level Cell (SLC)."


If you don't already have an SSD and you're looking for something that isn't top dollar I would recommend getting this one. The drive most likely won't last for 10 years but the price along with the 3 year warranty still makes it worth it in my eyes. I might just pick up the 480GB drive myself unless I end up spending my money on other deals (like a better graphics card since I already have an SSD and 4TB of HDD space).
