Re: Having fun
Here this is what I did:
1. Downloaded halo map editor: http://www.mediafire.com/file/ha36o4mjf ... T.v3.5.zip
2. Click on File-> Open, and find halo map folder and pick any multiplayer map (I used Bloodgulch).
3. Click on "[bitm] Bitmap (448 items)" and find the "weapons\rocket launcher\bitmaps\rocket launcher decal" folder.
4. Once you click on that folder 2 options and a photo should appear on the right side. Click on save texture (I saved the image on desktop).
5. Download gimp https://www.gimp.org/downloads/
6. Once installed open the saved DDS photo with gimp.
7. Gimp will auto open up to a "Load DDS" window, just click "OK".
8. Do all your edits and mods.
9. Click on File->Export as-> Rename the file-> Export.
10. So this is the annoying part. An window will pop up. All you need to worry about is the "Compression" category. Most of all the DDS files from halo is DXT1 or DXT3. So you will have to try them both. And if those don't work then try them all
11. To know which "Compression" will work you will have to re-do steps 1-3 and instead of "saving textures" you will "inject texture" find the location of your modified DDS photo. If the Compression is incorrect the Halo Map editor will say its an incorrect version.
-Enjoy.

Well, Smokerz, you have successfully answered a question I have harbored in my heart the day I laid eyes on SPV3: how in the name of all that is holy do people edit map bitmaps?

Ummm with the tool I'm using, every multiplayer map allows you to directly edit the bitmaps.A§H»TheMonk wrote:Well, Smokerz, you have successfully answered a question I have harbored in my heart the day I laid eyes on SPV3: how in the name of all that is holy do people edit map bitmaps?

Yoo, that's cool af bro! Can that map be put up as a server, say, an ASH server? That'd be something Black Knights haven't done (as far as I know).A§H»§mØkêʁϟ wrote: So what i did was i edited the map bloodgulch but you can see how the rocket launcher is also edited it in danger canyon.

Idk if that's possible. I mean yah we can upload the map to one of the servers but idk if it will work. I'm kinda curious, who are the modders for our maps?A§H»TheMonk wrote:Yoo, that's cool af bro!
