Halo Profile Dilemna

Before I joined the clam I just had one profile. Then I got into making two profiles. When I made the second profile, it deleted my first one. So then all my data and campaign progress was lost. Now I just lost the profile called "ASH Mandalr" and every time I try to change the name of the current profile, or even make a new profile under the name of ASH Mandalor, the screen says "there is already a profile under that name".

I have a pretty darn good score with that name on the snipers server and I can't play Halo PC with my tags on due to this. I forgot to add that this problem occurred on Halo PC. 

Basically the profiles are just randomely deleted and I keep loosing my process. If any help could be provided, I'd greatly appreciate it

Did you use name hack when creating any of these profiles? Sometimes a profile will randomly get deleted when you use name hack, but it usually only happens if you get an exception data.

I would also look in your halo folder that has the profiles and saved games to see if those profiles are there. It could be that the profiles are still there but not showing up in halo for some reason. You might have to reinstall halo to fix the problem.

I haven't ever used name hack. But then again my halo crashes a lot saying "exception". Could that be what is deleting my profiles?

Check your RAM to....I had "exeption..." alot on my
previous system and adding a memorybank fixed it.

Alt keys mess things up, I remember similar happening to my ≡DG≡ tags. I created a new account every time I played because Halo wouldn't allow me to have another profile with alt keys, everything else was fine however.

Go to Documents > My Games > Halo CE > savegames

Your profiles will be there. Remove the alt key and check it.

Problem has been solved so far. By unistalling Halo then reinstalling it, the profiles so far have not been deleted. No problems have occured. Thanks to Will, Vox, and Suika. I appreciate it :thunbsup Now I can play using an alias

BTW Now that I reinstalled it, Halo runs so much smoother. I don't know why but I've found a good hitbox when shooting with pistol. I'm back from the dead.

The problem has returned Using many aliases yesterday and creatin two profiles, my profile called ASH Mandalor was "lost" It really sucks I originally had 3 profiles with different names. Now two of three are missing. I can't find any solutions. I'm all bummed out. I will try and double heck to see if it continues. Any help and suggestion would be greatly appreciated. I will try and read over previous posts. Thanks as always.

make one profile and that's it. if you need two make them before playing with them.

I solved this problem a long time ago but now it has recured. This thread was never concluded but here is the solution. Your best bet is to reinstal halo and delete previous games and profiles.

Just now I was unable to create a profile with the my tags and name after having previously changed the name several times. I am not sure why this recures but I am at the moment reinstalling it. Sadly I find this to be the only problem solver and yet the problem resurfaced 4 months later. I'm a bit bummed out so yea Hopefully it won't return.

If I were you I would back up the save games occasionally to prevent this from happening in the future.
