BT installed it for free in the area, and a few days after it was done we just signed up which costs us £40/month (£25/month for the internet, £10/month for landline rental, and £5/month for unlimited local calls and something else that I can't remember).

Ohh, so it was the same price, but had less varieties.

We were paying £5 more for the same service with our previous provider (minus the 100GB/month limit, which what we've now got is unlimited under fibre optic).

Fibre optic is much faster as it uses light instead of copper wiring! So the speeds, latency, and stuff will be much better.

I really need fiber optic wiring, as I download about 30 things a day, and it would make life easier time-wise for me

Whenever I did any 'downloading' through torrents, it would always slow my internet down completely and disconnect me from Xfire (same when uploading to YouTube (as well as taking forever)...but now, well, I can do it in minutes instead of hours now ;D
