New Car or No?

Ok, so I'm considering buying a new car. i just don't know what to buy though. My options are:

2002 Chevrolet S-10 - $3,995 - 95,177 Miles
1998 Chevrolet 1500 - $2,495 - 129,000 Miles
2000 Chevrolet Prizm - $2,495 - 104,000 Miles

Which one?

I currently have a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban with 143,000 miles and only gets 8 mpg. Its falling apart faster than the American economy. Like, i need anyone who is a car persons help. I'm leaning towards the prizm because it gets 28 mpg.

Chevrolet 2000. Dude once cars reach 100,000 miles they're performance goes down a lot. You'd pay a thousand dollars less if you got the Prism and not the S-10. The 120,000 miles on the 1500 sounds like a lot :I

Not true! My truck is at about 160,000 and is working great. Also one of your options, the prizm, is a sedan. What kind of driving are you thinking of doing, and what are your weather conditions on average.

If your goal is strictly commute, than probably go with the sedan as they normally have better gas mileage in comparison to trucks. If you just want an all around vehicle, the 1998 seems a better choice of truck.

However, beware the trucks rearwheel drive and light backend. I've had a lot of fun playing drifto in the rain and it upsets my passengers horribly.

Is the limiting factor the price range, Chevrolet or both?

Mileage doesn't always matter.

I have a 2000 VW Jetta 1.9 TDI that gets around 45 mpg.
When we purchased it in 2004 the powertrain had 115K miles.
Now it has 240K miles and still runs like a charm! If Volkswagen (or Audi) would
put out more like this particular A4, I'd consider replacing this turbo diesel.

Alright I guess I was a bit naive sorry about mileage. My dad drives his Hyundai Elentra and his car just hit the 75,000 miles. He puts atleast 100 miles or more on that car a day. And he hasn't even had the car for two years. He's getting parts repaired atleast every 2 months. But yea >.> My grandpa had 180,000 on his truck. Though that thing was old and had terrible mileage. Not a Chevy person myself. High mileage doesn't mean bad performance, bad upkeep means bad performance.

I drive an '03 Toyota, it's at 80 some odd thousand miles and works like a charm. Been around Toyotas my whole life, they've been nothing but good and I'd highly recommend them.

Aye, I love my Tacoma. A 1997 Manual Trans. I've had to replace several parts on it simply due to it's age and use. Namely clutch and radio. The only part the ever malfunctioned was the speedometer cable.

I'm also kinda fond of the Camrys if ever I were to get a strictly commute vehicle, but that seems unlikely.

I have a SAAB 9-3. Currently I am running around with 25-26 MPG. It has a little over 200,000 miles on it and the only issue I have ever had was the radio antenna needed to be replaced.
