ok so i got into a argument with my hubby earlier over celebrating my dads bday on the 19th.
I got my dad a cake i pick it up friday, I have the bakery put R.I.P in one corner and I love you in the other and Happy Birthday Dad in the middle.
My husband says im weird and that noone celebrates a dead persons Bday?!??
Is it weird? I mean he never let me go visit my family or anything else, i wasnt allowed to go to my brothers funeral last year cause he thought i was going to leave him, so this is the last thing i can atleast do for my dad.
hmm
Re: hmm
I don't think it's weird. There's no rules to dictate how you can or can't celebrate a loved one's birthday. No matter where they are or aren't, do what you feel is best.

Re: hmm
I've actually heard of this before. It's fairly common around here.
I'd say that if getting a cake and eating it helps you feel happier, go for it! I'm sure your Dad would have wanted you to be happy.
