This game confuses me. I keep spawning near small settlements which I run down to try and get gear to survive, but the zombies are packed in them and can never get anything. They outrun me everytime, and I can't seem to figure a way to kill them.
At one point there was a truck, but the thing would start. Eventually, it was blown-up by a horde.

When you spawn near a place with gear you're going to want to try to pick off each zombie and beat him to death with your fists. If you dont want to do that you can run and quickly grab things though its very likely that a huge heard will start following you and eventually outrun you. Any type of car will be fine until zombies get to it and start hitting it (at this point when you see the smoke get out or drive off if its possible). After a few more hits the car will blow up. You should join mandy's server and we'll rescue you xD

The best technique is to spawn near a town with a car with gas and run over all the zombies. Make sure to go to the firestation and get that Fireaxe. The Fireaxe protects you from all the zombies, just like in DayZ. I will put this zombie takedown thread:
