Yes, we British are surely the greatest nation that there ever was. We civilized the world, taught it to read and write in the language of Shakespeare, invented democracy, Magna Carta, the rule of law, railways, all of the best sports and penicillin! How fortunate for the world that we thrashed the ghastly French and Germans. We let the Americans off the hook in 1812 because, despite their impertinence, they are decent enough in a rough sort of way (though we had to break them of that slavery business) and we were making a few bob doing trade with them.

I read this comment on YouTube in regards to the song, Rule Britannia. I was quite suprised at the negative and vengeful comments I found there, but this one bewildered me the most. The level of close mindedness and one-sidedness is just amazing.
