I've read a bit of Como Agua Para Chocolate and one of my favorite short story compilations, La Edad de Oro by Jose Marti. I used to read it when I was a kid.

He was an excellent author. I'm curious in Southern American novels now. I read a book describing different novels and the evolution of plot structures in different countries.
