Dude's relax, you are both a democracy AND a republic
My problem with them is that the , so called, "royal" family is practically above the law.
Crimes committed by members of this family are made state secrets, they get all
kinds of perks and tax reductions ( or are set free from taxes) , never have to wait for medical treatment and so on, and so on.....
for comparison:
The president of the U.S of A earns around 450.000 dollars.(est)
The "queen" gets over 7.500.000 euro's, her son 250.000 and his wife 250.000.
All that for a country that's just under twice the seize of New Jersey and has about 18 milj citizens.
Worse is that in WW2, they and the rest of our government fled to England, while ordinary soldiers
who pulled back whilst faced by superior German forces where put before a firing squad for being "coward".
And when the war was over they came back and pretended they had saved us.
(note: I don't blame them for fleeing , I would probably have done the same for my kids,...but I would never have the bloody nerve to come back and act as they did.)
But, as long as I don't get to vote on who's leading me, I'll have to deal with it.
