I'm running one and a half (laptop and monitor). It's amazing how much more productive I can be with two-- I know exactly where everything is even when I have over twenty windows open.

Geez two monitors?!?! I can barely work with one. Maybe if my computer was super fast I could work with four. For now I work with one. This would be a nightmare for me (photo below)

That only looks like four. Someday I wanna have a round desk with desktops, a laptop or two, and a tablet or two that I can all use kinda at once (the desk would be round so that I could just wheel along in my chair around it to get in front of each thing). The main desktop would have 6 monitors that would be at least 23 inches each, any other desktops would have at least 3 monitors, and the laptop(s) would have a separate monitor as well as the one right on the machine. Can you imagine how much someone could do with a setup like that. Play games, render videos, hacking neighbors wifi networks just because, and uploading anything and everything on a separate network from a completely separate ISP then the one you have for the main/gaming pc.
If your gonna dream you should dream big.

A six monitor set up is terrible, especially for a FPS. The bezel on the monitors well split the sight and players in half. It's fine for racing games, but not FPS.
Three monitors is stretching it, it's cooler than it is useful. The much larger FOV is like you have to turn your head away to really make use of the other monitors. That doesn't mean to say that I wouldn't do it, because I would.
Honestly, I'd rather just have a second laptop on the side for secondary computing rather than hooking everything up to my rig.
